Difficulties and challenges in urban railway connection in Vietnam

Abstract
Developing the urban railway system is considered a key solution to
solving traffic congestion and developing the economy in
"megacities", especially Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. However, how to
connect the urban railway project with the city space and integrate it into
urban life to promote its role are the questions that arise, creating
difficulties for those who need urban planners and managers. Besides,
currently, urban railway projects mainly pay attention to financial and
technical feasibility and have paid attention to the development of urban space
but not high and drastic. This study shows the current state of planning and
connection of the railway system, thereby providing recommendations to help
managers have a basis to evaluate the feasibility and necessity of planning
work in future railway plans.
